Dublin Airport announce new routes to the US and Europe with more than 1.3 million extra seats

Dublin Airport which is located 8km from the Dublin Enterprise Zone recently announced a total of nine new routes/services, comprising four short-haul and five long haul destinations which are being added to Dublin Airport’s flight schedule this summer. Five new long haul routes have been launched with Aer Lingus adding Miami to its route network, Delta Air Lines starting new services to Boston, and Norwegian launching two new routes to the US - to Stewart International New York State and Providence, Rhode Island. Dublin Airport will also welcome a major new airline, Qatar Airways when it starts its new direct daily route to Doha in the Persian Gulf.

According to Dublin Airport’s Managing Director, Vincent Harrison,“We are continuously working with existing and new airlines to add new and exciting destinations to our route network. These nine new services together with extra capacity and frequency on over 20 existing routes provide our customers with greater choice, and flexibility and more whether they are travelling for business or leisure purposes this summer season”.

The number of additional seats to and from North America is up 23%, with an extra 538,000 seats this year.

“Dublin Airport continues to be the fifth largest European airport for connectivity to North America, with only the major hubs of London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt and Amsterdam Schiphol having more routes and flights,” said Mr Harrison.

This year, passengers can choose from over 180 scheduled destinations from Dublin Airport to 19 destinations in North America, 23 destinations in the UK, 118 destinations in Continental Europe and five destinations in both Africa and the Middle East.
